Excellent corporate citizenship is important to Sysmex New Zealand. For us, this means a commitment to high ethical standards and adopting values such as respect and equality. It also means fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities in the areas of community, the environment and health.
Every year we participate in a variety of corporate social responsibility activities to promote environmental sustainability, a healthy society and a vibrant community. We also actively encourage our employees’ personal participation in volunteer efforts.
We support education in the community via the Sysmex Award for Health Informatics. Established in 2011 to inspire innovative thinking and excellence in health informatics education, this award is presented to a third year Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) student enrolled in Auckland University POPLHLTH 303 (Health Informatics).
Sysmex staff are especially enthusiastic in their support for the environment. A popular activity is our annual Sysmex Environmental Day where staff volunteer their time on a Sunday to participate in environmental work on Motutapu and Motuihe Island in Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf.
We also choose to support a variety of registered charities throughout the year. Either via annual sponsorship or via donations collected during conferences. Some of the wonderful charities we have been proud to support through the years include Heart Kids NZ, Ronald McDonald House, CanTeen NZ, Kidney Kids NZ, Starship Foundation, Kiwis for Kiwi, Mental Health Foundation NZ, Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ, National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, StarJam, Alzheimers NZ and the SPCA.
