Arjit Bhana, CEO
ArjitBhanaArjit Bhana was appointed Sysmex New Zealand CEO in April 2017. He is a Chartered Accountant, with over 20 years of experience in various Finance roles in industries such as IT, Manufacturing and Distribution. Arjit joined Sysmex New Zealand in 2001 as Financial Controller. In 2007, he relocated to Regional Headquarters, based in Singapore, to become Asia Pacific Chief Financial Officer for Sysmex Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. Upon his return to New Zealand in 2012, he was Sysmex New Zealand General Manager and was responsible for Accounting, IT, HR, legal and Operations for Sysmex New Zealand.

Colin McKenzie, Sales Director
ColinMcKenzieColin McKenzie became the Sysmex New Zealand Sales Director in April 2017. He joined the company in 1989 as a systems analyst and has been in key account management and sales management roles for over 20 years. With qualifications in haematology and biochemistry, Colin is able to apply his knowledge and understanding of laboratory workflows to customer requirements. Colin is dedicated to building long lasting, trusted relationships with Sysmex customers and to understanding the current and future needs of their businesses. He is passionate about the benefits that health IT solutions can bring to healthcare providers and their patients.

Jason Chan, Finance Manager
Jason Chan joined Sysmex in early 2019 as Finance Manager and is responsible for all areas of finance and administration for Sysmex New Zealand. Jason is a member and approved mentor of CAANZ with over 10 years of finance experience in the software, manufacturing and FMCG industries.


Leonie Woolnough, Human Resources Manager
Leonie was appointed Human Resources Manager for Sysmex New Zealand in January 2020. She has extensive experience in human resources and organisational development gained from working across a range of industries and consulting on all aspects of human resources. Leonie is passionate about people, culture development and delivering strategic programmes that attract and grow talent to make workplaces great.


Vanessa Martin, Services Manager
VanessaMartinVanessa Martin was appointed to the role of Services Manager in July 2016 and has a background in medical laboratory science and health IT project management. Starting with the company in 1993, Vanessa has managed, and contributed to, numerous implementations of the Sysmex health IT product portfolio. Vanessa brings a passion for ensuring customer service excellence in the projects and support we deliver to our customers.

Kathryn Hawthorne, Solutions Manager
KathrynHawthorneAs Solutions Manager, Kathryn Hawthorne brings over 15 years of project management experience to her role. Kathryn joined Sysmex in 2004 as a full-time project manager and is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI). Kathryn’s wide-ranging product knowledge and capability managing large-scale and complex implementation projects is greatly respected and valued by Sysmex customers.

Jan Preston, Delivery Manager
JanPrestonJan Preston manages the delivery team which is responsible for product implementation at customer sites and customer training. She is also responsible for quality assurance of both existing and new products in the Delphic LIS suite. She has an extensive knowledge of all Sysmex products and has been instrumental in implementation projects in Canada and throughout New Zealand for over twenty years.

Graeme Hibbert, Chief Architect
GraemeHibbertGraeme Hibbert is chief architect of Sysmex’s product development team and is responsible for setting the strategic direction for new software products in the global Sysmex portfolio. Graeme joined Sysmex in 1993 as an analyst programmer and has worked on all of our product lines in that time.

Deborah Steele, Product Manager
Deborah SteeleWorking alongside our customers and the Sysmex product development leads, Deborah’s role as Product Manager is to oversee the direction of the Sysmex IT product suite. Guided by the market, plus industry and technology trends, she is committed to championing our product suite to meet the changing needs of diagnostic labs, pathology and healthcare organisations. Deborah’s experience includes 9 years as a Medical Laboratory Scientist working in both New Zealand and London, pharmaceutical industry product management, plus 15 years’ in product specialist and marketing roles at Sysmex.

Thomas Hesse, LIS Development Manager
Thomas HesseThomas is the LIS development manager and leads the team of software developers across all LIS projects at Sysmex. He has been with Sysmex since 2003 bringing considerable experience and knowledge to the role, and is actively involved in the planning and direction of Delphic LIS product portfolio.
